hello everybody!
I got the magic email today -- here the details
EB-2 I-140 CSC consular processing RD 6/05 AD 3/1/05
What makes this interesting is that I signed a contract with another employer literally today. My sponsoring current employer has not informed me about whether I will be reappointed after 6/30/05 -- I have a tenure-track position at a university, which is reviewed for reappointment every 2 years. The review feedback was due 2/13/05, and I repeatedly asked about it but have not heard back. I even told my boss that I have another offer, he said he would ask about the reappointment and has not gotten back to me either.
Now, of course, I would like to benefit from the approved petition.
I cannot file I-485 before september because I am abroad on maternity leave, with the baby due in a few weeks. I am wondering if I can be on childbearing leave during the consular interview and then stay on leave with my sponsoring employer for at least 90 days after passport stamping. I also don't have copies of the I-140 petition and the labor certification.
I might be more or less at my sponsoring employer's mercy with an employment verification letter and a possible revocation of the petition.
Any thoughts...? I might also ask the current employer to confirm that they will reappoint me ASAP. But, oooh, everything at this employer's mercy.....
Any thoughts or hints appreciated...!
