Changing employers after T-140 approval ane before I-485

Is it possible that once I -140 gets approved that one can change employer's since now there is a retrogression in I-485 so one cannot apply for I-485 till your priorty date becomes current so during that time between I-140 approval and the filing of I-485 if one loses their job can they change employer's and continue their GC process with the new employer? Does one have to refile for the I-140?
