Changing employer

Hi All

My employer filed for my I 140 and 485 from vermont. I have received my receipts and it mentions the date as Oct 20 2003. And I am waiting for my EAD. Now what I wanted to know was at what point of time can I change my employer. The reason why I am asking this is that if I am offered a permanent position by a company will I be able to take it. I have discussed this with my employer and he mentioned that I can provided that I have worked for a certain period of time with him or has earned X amount of dollars from the date of filing of my GC. He has no problem in continuing to process my GC after i have joined a new company. Does anyone know by law what is the minimum time that I need to work for my current employer and what is the minimum wage to be earned since the application of GC is made.

Thanks

amar_bee,

if you wait for 6 months from the date of your I-485 application you can use AC-21 provided your 140 is approved. However if your employer is ready to support the GC process even after you leave and join another employer then i guess after 6 months of 485 you would change..
this is my opnion and from what i have read from this forum..you may want to consult an immi lawyer as well..

thanks
