Changing employer after I485 approved

I had my emnployment based I485 application approved. I have been working for my current employer and GC sponsor for several years and heard it is not a good idea to quit the GC sponsor as soon as the I485 is approved. I heard it is mandatory to remain with the sponsor for at least other 6 months.

I would like to know if the statement above is correct or if the AC21 or any other regulation would allow me to freely change employers from now on. If I change employer now or before 6 months after the I485 is approved will I be accused of immigration fraud?

There is no regulation in this regard. Generally this question shows up when you go for citizenship interview. They might suspect that you cheated by quitting the employer immediately after getting GC (like applying for unemployment benefits as soon as GC is approved).
But with AC21 which allows portability and a cleaner record of not dependent on welfare, you should be able to get through the employment scrutiny while applying for citizenship or GC extension.
