Changing employer after I485 approval

I got my I485 approved on September 3 rd 2004, passport stamped on October 12 th 2004. I am still waitnig for the plastic.
I have an offer to join another company but am not sure if that could cause me some problems in the future ( for example when I apply for the Citizenship

That's a long time not to get a card. I thought if you don't get the card in 60 days you can call back and check. Isn't it?

Yup you are correct. After 60 days you can phone and see what's up.

"If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"

I did call them and it takes around 6 months...
But my question was regarding the job change,
not a plastic card...

You are almost 6 months from your approval date of 9/3/04, which is what many lawyers consider as a safe time period to change jobs without adversely impacting the citizenship prospects. In my personal opinion, by changing job now you have nothing to worry about.

My husband plans to quit his job exactly the day he completes 6 months from the approval date, i.e. if doesn't loose it before that.
