changing address in USA / AR-11

Hi. Nowhere I can find an answer to my simple question. There is a rule we have to tell authorities everytime we move to another place in USA. But what if...
1) I decide to travel for a long time [months] (changing my address everyday)?
2) during my travelling I take a job for a "short" time [days/weeks]
are these MUST be reported cases?

another question: what about my insurance, car registration, car insurance... Does it have to be changed (renewied) everytime I move from one state to another (everytime I report the change of address in AR-11)?

thanks a lot

This really is just a matter of using your own best judgment.

If you opened a bank account, would you call them to change the address every day as in your example 1. No, of course not. You would probably consider some address as being your permanent address, and the other daily addresses are simply vacation stays. Same thing for USCIS.

thanks a lot. Example 1 was probably quite simplyfied.
It is more like: USCIS has my permanent address in Illinois. I travel for six months the states. During my travelling I get a job in Colarado for a month.
and now the question is: is it still a matter of using my own best judgement? Or is it necessary to report the address change, because I spent a whole month there working? (even if I consider this just like a short stop on my journey)

One more question: Can I live (have permanent address (the one I reported to USCIS)) in one state and pay my health insurance, car insurance and have my car registered in another state?

sorry for stupid questions, but it is all so new and confusing to me :/

This is really the same answer I already gave. Take an IT contractor. Based in State A. Is resident in State A for tax purposes, receives mail there and so on. Now, takes a one or two month assignment in State B (planning to work there for a month and return to State A at the end of the contract). In that case the permanent residence is still in State A. The contract is temporary. You wouldn't change drivers license, register car there or informUSCIS.

Let's say you love it in State B and you decide to move there permanently. You give up your home in State A, take a long term lease in State B - it is obvious you have moved there and now need to inform everyone, including USCIS.

Really - we could do various scenarios all night - but this is as far as I go...

I'm also confused because how can you register a car in a state if you're not living there? And you don't change your health and car insurance every month while you travel.
