Change to CP from AOS?

All, I am from INDIA and filed for 485 in August. I complete 180 days next week. I am so frustrated with speed of 485 that I am thinking of changing to CP. Is it worth it? What do you suggest? Everyone I know who filed for CP after me got GC. - Frustrated Desi.

You\'re only about 4 months away from your GC based on your I-485 app...

Changing to CP would probably take the same time or longer. Stick with 485 and change employers if you want since you\'ll be completing 180 days.

Banglore Baba, I can understand how you feel

I am in the same boat, CP to AOS, filed in August. Employer is not at all finding a project with decent salary. He is enjoying the 50% pay rate I got thru my own efforts for the last 5 months and moved me to an expensive city where I ended up with double the expenses and half salary for a family with two kids. This project may continue till April. I am not at all confident that my Employer can find another project on his own even after April when the current project is over. Looks like my 485 can not be aprroved untill June 2002. I think I will have to find a project again in April, and he will again enjoy a nice part of the pay rate.

Have already completed 174 days. I dont know know how many people are in my situation, but please give some suggestions.

1) Is it really safe to change employers even after 180 days.

2) I think the important thing is, whether you change employers or not
you should be employed with some salary at the time of RFE. What is point in sticking to your employer all the time before RFE and without a job when you get RFE.

3) Are such cases transferred to locan INS centers if and after RFE.
