Change of Status.. Visitor to H1

I am presently on a visitors visa in USA(I have a multiple entry 10 year visa). I have been offered a job in some company. I want to know that if this company sponsors my H1 and the process begins, can I leave the country and come back at any time before OR after my H1 is obtained?

if you leave the US before your H1B approval notice
comes through, you will have to wait in your home country
for the lawyers to send it to you there. That\'s the minus
side. The plus side is that you can get you rmulitple entry
stamp more easily. And you will not be even under suspicion
of commiting a fraud (coming in as a tourist and seeking a job
is considered fraudulent many times).
If you stay here and wait for the approval, you will not have a
multiple entry stamp and be unable to leave the US for a long long time!! (until you get your green card, that is).
