Our H-1b / H4 visa is expiring on September 30, 2012. I was planning to leave in the last week of September. But, unfortunately our son fell down while running and broke his leg. He has been advised bed rest and cast is put for 6 weeks. I cannot leave by September 30 2012. The doctor has issued medical certificate till November 2012 advising against travel.

I am wondering if I can apply change of status rom H-1b to B2.
I went on USCIS site and I could not see following combination in the I-539 instructions: Present Visa H-1b to desired visa B2.
Can somebody please guide if it is possible to convert H-1b to B2 and whether I can submit the application online with medical certificate.
