Hi, I came to US on f1 visa this jan. I applied for h1 this april and got approved on oct 22nd. Does this implies that my f1 status has been expired?
can i go to mexico for stamping? i've recently heard that there is a rule being implimented these days that the candidate has go to his home country for the stamping. is it true?

I am not sure why your visa got approved in Oct 22nd, I thought all H1Bs (non-cap exampt) had to be aproved before OCt 1st and were valid from oct 1st.... The day on your H1B determines when you automaticall switch to H1B and yor F1 status is terminated.
You can go to Mexico to get the stamping as far as I know...

Ya, there was a query on my h1b visa.. so it took time and got approved by october 22nd. Do i have chances of being rejected if i go to mexico for stamping? Recently i have heard from one of my friends that applicant is being asked to go back to his home country to get stamping done. Is it true?
Thank you for ur fast reply

Firstly, you don't have to get the stamping immediately if you do not need to leave the US as long as your I-94 is in proper status. Whether you are in F1 or H1 will be shown on your latest I-94.
