Change of Status-Family based immigration

My mother had a green card and she filed for me under for a family based green card for me. Now she is a US citizen- Can she refile for me such that I am in a different category for family based immigration (green card). Will the refiling under the new status help me get the green card faster. Will my application be considered a fresh application or will it maintain the priority date per initial filing?
