Change of Address?

I realized I haven't reported a change of address since getting my GC back in 2001. I'm a student, so I've moved around a LOT.

Currently, the INS has my "permanent address", which is my parents' home.

Is this going to be a problem when I apply for naturalization? Do I need to file an AR-11 every time I personally move, or is keeping the address at my parents' home ok?

It certainly won't hurt to file an AR-11.
For students, there actually is a special rule regarding naturalization: you can file either in the district that handles your parents' address, or in the district that handles your university address (provided that you are financially dependent from your parents.)

Thanks for the response.

I actually don't know if my parents filed AR-11 when we moved for the first and only time (as a family) after getting our GCs (I was 19 at the time)

Is there a way of finding out what address the CIS has on file for me, as I'd have to put that info on the AR-11...

Also, when it says port of entry, does it mean the most recent one, or the FIRST time I entered the USA? And this would be stamped in teh form of a visa on my passport, right?

Oh I see.

This seems pretty stupid, but want to make sure... so for my previous address, should I just put what I'm fairly sure my parents changed it to the last time they filed a change of address (if they did)?

Also, if the address people aren't even USCIS, is this a pretty standard procedure? They won't make a big fuss of the fact that I've been living in my current address quite a while, longer than the 10 days, obviously...

Oh sorry, one more thing: Will I get something back indicating they received my AR-11?
Thanks!

AR-11 is only for the change of address.
If you are living at the same address that you indicated to INS/USCIS on the first paperwork when you entered the country...then you do not need to file AR-11.

You only file AR-11 when you move away from that very first address.

It is legal in almost all situations for students to maintain their parents address as their permanent address, and not your dorm address even if your school is out of state.

You won't receive anything back from DHS unless you attached a delivery confirmation.
