Hey,
I have changed my home, so is this the right time to change address? If so, do I call up the U.S. Consulate in India and ask them to change over there, and INS here ??!!

Anybody gone through this before?

Please help!!

What stage are you in?

If you have already chnaged your home... why bother if it is the right time or not !

Depending on what stage you are in your process you have to made address corrections.. or nothing atall.

change the address on OF/DS 230 forms at the consulate office when you are there for CP!! At the time of interview you will be asked if the address listed is right or not.

what about me?

I applied I-140 with consular processing option. Now i changed adress before I get the approval of I-140. Now what will happen? Is I-140 approval and packet III will come my old adress or can I change it now?

I-140 Approval & P3 shd go to your lawyer unless you request it at your address or if you don\'t have a lawyer. But if you have a lawyer, then notify him/her. Also there is a wonderful thing call *Mail-Forwarding* (did you forget?), why don\'t you make use of it?

Thanks Sky Sailer

Thanks ~ I think that is a good idea. However, yesterday I was reading the PCC form and it asks the address. Do I put the old one and depend on mail forwarding or put the new one? What do you advise?

Thanks in advance,
Sonu

sonu,
undoubtedly put the new address !! PCC is based on the name/fingerprints not on the address. good luck !!

Guys..... address is not that big a deal

You want to specify the address you want your GC sent to in your 230.

Fill in the correct address on DS 230 you take with you to the interview.
INS officer will confirm at the POE if the address is correct.. if not you can even change it at that time!

(I had sepcified my friends address at GC sending address as he has a house and is not likely to move in near future)

Thanx guys

Thanx guys, I will do so :)

Also would you know if I need to obtain a PCC or not? I haven\'t lived in India since the age of 15. So I should get a police clearance of U.S not India, as far as I understand. what do you think?

Please help!
thanks in advance
sonu

sonu,
you only need to obtain PCC from the places you have lived for more than 6 months after attaining age of 16.
