Change of Address -- Need Advice

My RD is 1/1/2002 and ND 1/7/2002.

I changed my job (similar) but it is in different state. I will be moving there at the end of June but I do not think I will get my approval before that.

I will notify BCIS with AR11 within 10 days of my moving but in case, they do not update my address in time (we all know that! esp with no more phone to verify address change with VSC), will post office forward any letter/communication from old address to new address?

OR there are any issues with forwarding any letter by post office (e.g. they return it back to sender etc).

If you filed your application through a lawyer then your approval notice will be send to the law firm anyhow. I am not sure if the courtesy copy will get forwarded to the new address, I think that it will be returned to BCIS.

Are you planning on informing BCIS about use of AC21 or will you only tell them if asked (RFE issued)? Is the new state you are moving to also in a different service center area?

I think that there is a good chance that you will get your approval by the end of June!!

Thanks Helge for quick reply.

My application was filed by my employer but I got laid off. So not sure if any notice will got to my old employer or will directly come to me.

I am moving from PA to NJ so same service center. Not sure about notify BCIS now or later (if RFE issued).

I am not sure if you left on more or less good terms, but I would call the old firm's HR department to find out how to get in touch with the immigration lawyer that handled your case and I would ask them if they would be so kind to forward any mail from BCIS to you. If that is no possiblity then file G28 form and change to new lawyer or yourself.

Also, after you filed AR11 and once you see your approval online you can call VSC to make sure that they have your new address - for this make sure to check status everyday and call immediately after your case is approved so that BCIS can still change address before the notice leaves the mailroom.

Just my two cents - I am not a lawyer, far from it...
