Change of Address effects

A lot of people here have changed thier addresses while in AOS. I tired to do a search but did not find anything concrete to answer my question - so here is it.

What affect will we see in our processing times if we move to a different city which is

1) within the same service center or
2) maybe falls in a different service center.

In case (1) are there any additional delays in processing or is the case transferred to the local INS office?

In case (2) I know the case is transferred to the new SC.

Just wanted to know what is the down side of giving a change of address and if it adds some more processing time or triggers a transfer to a local office, especially when we are so close (or yet so far???? :D )

All thoughts will be appreciated.

Thank you,

R u changing the address or is it just curiosity?
Anyway, there is no definite downside on processing time due to change of address. Some people on this forum changed address and it did not affect thier processing at all. I changed address 3 times and now out of CSC area. I recently got 2nd FP notice and RFE notice to my new address without a transfer of case.

Bottom line is keeping same address helps somewhat but it should not be given too much consideration than career etc.

yajiv,

Thank you for your reply. I will be moving into a new job very shortly and can either move to a city in the CSC area or possibly outside - that is why I need to know the affects if any.

Thanks again.
