Change of address after the Green card

Hi,
I have changed my address after I got my green card. However I just
found out that notification of the change of address has to be done
within 10 days of such change. Its been quite some time(> 1yr) since I changed my address. Can I file for the change of address now (AR11 form)? What are the consequences of doing it now. Has any one been in the same
situation as me? Your advise is appreciated.

Thanks

Per the INA 266, failure to notify the INS of change address
is punishable by $ 200 and 30 day in jail if convicted and
the offender, even if not convicted, can be "removed".

But I don\'t think the INS enforce that evwn after 9-11.
So don\'t worry. Just notify them now. And even if you
notify them, they don\'t care. In case that they will
care in restrospect in the future (remember that there is no
staute of limitation for the INS to take action against such
a violation), make a copy of the address change form and send
it by a certified mail and keep the receipt.

Also never run for the Congress even after you become a citizen,
your political enemy will dig this out and get you deported
in order to get rid of opponent.

Changing Address after Approval or Getting Card?

Hello!
Can someone please elaborate whether it is appropriate to update the address after the approval or actually getting card, if necessary.

According to the instructions on the form you are supposed to file this even if you are not a permanent resident. So you should send it shortly after you move.
