change in Stamping Consulate

Hi,
When I was working in UK, I have filed for H1B and got H1B approval notice with stamping consulate at London.
But, I’m in India now and would like to stamp here in local consulate at Chennai, India.
Can I approach the embassy directly?
Please advise me.
