Hi,

My husband sent his N-400 application last week at the Nebraska service centre. The application has our current home phone number as well as his cell phone number. We are considering changing our home phone service provider and they cannot keep our current phone number. Is it advisable to change home phone number after sending the N-400 application?

Thanks,
Khushi..

Two things:
- the USCIS rarely calls once you have filed (although I have read some posts where the USCIS called in last minute to notify about an upcoming Oath Ceremony)
- if you would like to maintain some service with the phone number you listed on the application, have you considered porting this number to your cell phone? Quite a few people cancel their landline service and request that number to be transferred to their cell phone service. You could do the same, and it then no longer would matter if your new carrier allocates you a completely different phone number for your landline phone.

You can also look into downgrading the services on this land line to bare minimum (like the line can only receive calls) and keeep it active till you become a USC
