Change in Passport after Card. Should I inform INS?

My passport is expiring in June 2002 and I plan to apply for a replacement next week.

Once I get the passport, do I have to inform INS or are there any other formalities?

BTW - I am a GC holder and I already have the card.

Can I have my passport stamped at a different INS center

I got my 485 approval notice. I need to have my passport stamped.
However, my passport is in the renew process. Once I get my
new passport, can I go to a different INS center (not in the
state or region I applied) to stamp my passport? Thanks.

You can do that.

Yes. You can go to any INS office for PP stamping. They may ask you to show proof of residence ( Driving license or utility bills etc. ). Search on my name venkat97 and look at my posting around Sept 25 and Sept 26 2001. I have seen many people done this in the past.
