Change in employment location

I am working with a company in City X. I am now moving to City Y and my company has agreed to let me work from home in City Y. I will be making once-a -month trips to the offices in City X.

Some websites recommend filing an amended (essentially new) H1B petition to USCIS to inform them of the change in location of employment.

However, my lawyer has recommended that I just get an amended LCA and make that available in my company's public access file. She is saying that we should continue to consider my company's office in City X as my primary work location as I will be visiting it once a month and my home office in City Y as secondary work location (even though I will be spending more time in City Y).

She is also saying that filing a new h1B petition may open possibility of denial especially since my work address will be same as my home address.

I am totally confused now - should I just go with amended LCA or go ahead with complete amended H1B petition.

Anyone have the same experience?
