Change in employer

I applied my I-485 on 07/31/2001. I have changed my emploer recently on 06/17/2002, i.e.. after 320 days thinking about the ac21 portability. My attorney advised its not necessary to notify INS. Last week I came to know that I have to notify INS (INS expects us to notify them). Should we notify or shouldn't we? Please advise! Thanks
 
i have changed job starting July 15th. My lawyer said that he will not inform INS unless INS issues a RFE.
 
Legally: Yes

Should You? No

Reason: It only adds to reasons why IIO might issue an RFE. Even if you dont notify IIO, at most you will get the RFE and then you can notify them.

You don't really have to. I didn't (RD- Aug 23 '01) and got an approval on Aug 02 '02 with no RFE. If an RFE is issued then you would have to provide employment letter (with a new employer), pay-stubs etc ...
