Change In Company Name

What are the likely effects to the 485 processing, should our employer decide to change the name of the business?

Anyone in the same boat?

Not a problem if there is a change of name in the company.

If you want to be super safe then it might be advisable to file an amendment to the 485 and underlying 140 saying your company name has changed, but other than that it makes no difference. A well known case was when Anderson consulting broke away from Aurthor Anderson, and changed their name, don't recall any problem with anyone's 485 at that time.

As long as cpmpany tax id doesnt change it doesnt need any extra work even though there is a change in name.
If tax id changes you might need to send amendement as 140_takes_4ever says.

Any material change requires a new I-140. Simple name change may not be material, but, you will have to see if this is only a name change (why?) or more.
