Dear all,

My J1 expires in October.
I am going to apply for F1 in my home country in July because school starts in August.Does this affect F1 application?
My waiver is pending.
Do you have any tips?
What should I expect during the interview?
Does US consulate in my country will know I am applying for waiver.
I am concerned it will affect my F1..

Thanks

Az

The J1 waiver application should be sent to US Department of State, so US consulate may have your J1 waiver information in their system.

But the J1 waiver is different from I-140 or I-485 immigration application, your F-1 visa application should be fine. But they may ask your queston of the reason of J1 waiver application.

Thanks VectorP,

What would you answer US Consulate when they ask about why I apply for the waiver?

Thank you...
