Change from CP to AOS after I-140

I am currently in the process of filing my I-140 at NSC and I have a choice of CP vs AOS. I would prefer the CP option but in light of the current situation in India, I would want to have the option to move to AOS if I find that the situation worsens after 2 months. Do I need to file 824 for that upon 140 approval. I am aware that for change from AOS to CP one needs to file 824 but is this needed for the other way around. If not.. what needs to be done?

nothing you need to do !!

Just file i-485 you will be ok.. no extra form if you chnage from CP to 485

So far, I824 is not needed when converting from CP to AOS.
