change from CP to 485???what will be 140 ND

Hi,
My I-140 is still in process(ND-Jun2003) and i have opted CP.
Now i wanna change to I-485.
Will my I-140 ND will also change to the date on which my I485 papers are received by VSC.I.e. new ND for I140 will be issued
Or my I-140 will be processed according to the previous ND date and I485 papers will be added to my file..

please please if have any idea do reply.

I wish you had an alternative...but unfortunately it's a depressing process.

1. I believe that you can change your application only after I -140 is approved.

2. In order to change CP to 485 or vice versa (as in my case), you need to file I-824 (Application for Action on an Approved application or Petition). Your I 485 processing will begin AFTER I-824 is processed and that is very depressing.

why depressing? because I filed to change 485 to CP in July 02 and that time I 824 processing date was Feb 22, 02 and moved to April 12, 02 sometime in the month of November 03...guess what it took 16 months to move to April 12, 02 and I am still waiting for them to process July 02, I - 824 cases.

So my advice is to stick with CP... or wait forever..
