File I-824 to change from AOS to CP. Depending on which consulate you fall under, you can either choose
AC-140 - approaching the consulate directly with approved I-140 & I-824 receipt. This is a faster way but not all consulates accept AC-140 cases based on I-824 receipts. OR
Regular CP - where BCIS will forward you case to NVC for further processing upon approval of I-824.

Is it possible to apply for consulate processing after filing the applications concurrently? If so what are the procedures for that?
I concur with titu. To add to titu's point find out/ let us know what consulate you would be going to? Coz only if your consulate accepts AC I-140 with I-824 receipt it may be worth thinking about changing from AOS to CP. So answer the above question to start with.
