Hi,

Just got stamped yesterday and the lady told everyone it takes between 6 months to a year to get your card!

If I change address now, do I need to call VSC in addition to file AR11?

Thanks.

Change of address

Just got stamped yesterday and the lady told everyone it takes between 6 months to a year to get your card!

Generally USCIS says it takes 6 months to a year, but many of my friends got their cards in 3-4 weeks time.

Yes, you need to change address with USCIS also by calling 1-800 number.

You may get your card any where between one week to one year. Keep track of the status of your case from card ordered / card mailed etc.

If you have not received your card after more than 3 days, you need to follow up with VSC center.

Good luck.

If possible wait for your card before changing address. Dont mean to scare you but one of my friend had a bad experience. They changed the address after stamping, they filed AR-11 and called 800 #. But the cards were already mailed and they were returned back. This was in Jan 2005. They had to request for new cards. As of today they have received the card for the primary applicant but the spouse card has not yet come. So unless it is urgent I would recommend to wait for some time.

wait for your card before moving. that's what i did. no issues whatsoever.

see my signature.

i moved end of march after we got the cards.

Thanks for the advice. I'm withing walking distance of the old address and I know the landlord pretty well. So I'll wait, hope it counts in weeks.
