Working for a biotech/pharma company as a scientist for a little over year. Having a Ph.D from US with 4 research articles, 2 book chapters, 15 conference abstracts and reviewed couple of research articles. No major awards except one, graduate researcher of the year from Grad school(US). Can anyone give me feedback on my chances for EB1-OR ?? Appreciate all the good work in the forum and Thank you in advance!!

Employment letter
I was told by my employer that they will provide the permananet empl. letter for my GC. They want me get my GC done fast.
Regarding the processing center, I heard that from Apr 1, all the I-140 applications will be processed by NSC&TSC. I do come under TSC.

My I140 for EB1-OR was adjudicated in less than a month at the TSC. I had less papers than your case, but 15 years research experience, strong support from my company, and eight testimonial letters from international experts.
A key issue is the letters, showing that not only you are recognized as an outstanding researcher, but also that you have international recognition as such.
You mention only one year in research, or is it only with your current employer? I believe you must have a minimum of 5 years in research. Also, they must be able to prove that the company is involved in research or that it has a fully-staffed research dept.
Finally, a good attorney, one that knows how to present a strong case.

Actually this is my first job after my Ph.D. I was told that the reasearch at grad school can be considered towards the research experience. For EB1-OR, 3 yrs exp. is required.

When you ask for reco letters, say that it is purely for immigration purposes and is different from usual letters the person might provide, and that it would contain some superlatives, and offer to provide some samples. Also ask the writer for his/her CV.
For OR, you need some international recognition, so the letters need to state that the publications are in peer-reviewed journals having international circulation.
Your credentials seem sufficient for OR.

- Were you invited for the chapters or your boss ?
- Were you personally invited by the editor of the journals to review papers or your boss. (I had an RFE regarding that issue)?
- You need good letters from independent (not associates to you or your boss) researchers from different countries writing that you have a good international reputation in your field.

My boss was the invitee for the chapters!! Is it good to get a letter from the editor of these books?

Again I wasn;t the invitee. But I do have the letters sent out by the editors on my name for reviewing the papers. I am not sure if this is sufficient!!

- That are not many citations. Try to get letters from those who cited you claiming that you are very important in that area of research
- If you boss was invited and not you it won't help you too much for the GC process. You need a letter from the editor that he wanted you personally (and not because you are part of the group from your boss) as a writer for the chapter.
- Same for the journals (That was a RFE in my case) USCIS wants a letter from the editor of the journals that you are personally invited by editor because of your accomplishments in this area of research not because your boss was invited and gave the manuscripts to you.
If you can get all this letters you have good chances of success. Without them not so much, IMO
