chance for NIW or wait

my case is as follows -

2 accepted papers + 1 submitted
(1 in top chemistry journal - JACS/Angew. Chemie - that has 17 citations in 2 years, highlighted in other journals (technical highlights)
2nd one in 3 IF journal, very recent - no citations)
3 paper submitted (Top chemistry journal/Nature methods)

6 conference presentations
Awards (university/outstanding student awards
Can make strong arguments about importance of the work through letters, etc that it advances field and work could be helpful to other disciplines...
Will finish Ph.D this month and will be starting postdoc
Can I apply as soon as I start postdoc or should I wait till I get around 30 citations or 2-3 more papers

Can you please comment if I have a chance for NIW?
 
I think you should be good for NIW. Start gathering material, it will take you couple of months, hopefully by then your second paper too will have citations.
You just need to present your material properly. Hire a good lawyer, and you should be set.
 
I suggest you to go through NIW cases in the forum. You also have to go through the NIW requirements. I feel you have to wait for some more time. Experience too matters after Ph.D, I guess.

In my opinion your publication is not very strong. Also for NIW you have to prove that your research is of national interest. I would suggest to wait for more papers and citations. USCIS generally does not consider student awards either.
