CCPE assessment

Hi Folks,

Need your guidance.

I am an Electronic engineer from India and working in software industry for last 6 years.

I have applied for canda immigration from buffalo.

My lawyer has asked me to get CCPE (Canadian Counsel of Professional Engineers) assessment for my engineering degree and then send it for putting in my file. He says, it is required for all engineers.


Please let me know if it is really needed for immigration

If you are trying to come as an engineer than it is required as in canada being an engineer is like a "Professional Status" and requires licensing .

Ask yoru lawyer to change you as a software analyst/Programmer and stuff without using the word engineer .

I have already applied under profession "Software Engineer".

So, can I be exempt from CCPE assessment ?
