Catch22 with EAD

Hello

I have been stuck in a catch22 with my EAD. I had applied for a EAD renewal 4 months before my old one expired. When it didnt come I applied for an interim EAD but was told they cant issue it because the actual EAD was approved. Waited 3 weeks more, neither did I get it nor did the online status change from pending, went back again, same story cant issue interim ead because ead is approved. I have now filed for a replacement ead .
Anyone with any advice/insight pls let me know !

Welcome to the uscis. They are on record as stating that once an EAD has been approved but not received they will not issue a temporary EAD at a local office. Most common cause for this is not having your name on your mail box and the post man returning it back to USCIS. If the card has been returned to USCIs it can take months to get it reissued (for my wife it took four months). USCIS suggests applying for a new one and paying the fee again as they have instructed you.

By saying 4 months to get it reissued was it a filing for a replacement EAD? That is what I have filed for, I hope this time it goes through smoothly!

Something similar is happening to me... I didn't receive the card.
My status on-line was updated on May 27 but the card never came.
I called USCIS and, for once, I actually spoke with somebody that was nice and tried to be helpful. He told me that if I didn't receive it in another month, to call back.
Anyway, this is not a very friendly situation.
The only good thing about reapplying for a EAD right now is that apprently, since June 14, they are giving EAD that are good for more than one year.
Oh well!
