cases remain unopened in the mail-room

The Texas Service Center (TSC) announced in a recent meeting with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) that there is a large backlog in the mail-room which will affect I-485 petitions and all petitions filed concurrently with them (such as I-765 - work authorization, and I-131 - advance parole). These cases received at the INS since September 8, 1999 remain unopened. The TSC says that this temporary backlog is due to inadequate resources and other priorities. They have said that they are working hard to alleviate the backlog.

As a result of this backlog, however, since these cases remain unopened in the mail-room, Receipt Notices have not yet been generated for them, and accompanying petitions (e.g. I-765 and I-131) cannot be adjudicated until they are opened, which may result in longer than expected processing times.

Hopefully, the TSC will be able to re-prioritize and reallocate resources in order to ease this backlog

Unopened since Sep. 1999?

Is that true? a package unopened for more than 4 years? Please make it accurate.

Case since September 8, 1999!!!!!????

Once again, it proves that TSC is extreme talent to create any possible ways to screw people. It never failed to amaze me. Fucking morons!!!

Mail not opened means no recipt for those cases. I havn't heard anyone complaing such things. What is your source of information?

TSC is bad, but this is a little bit too much to be believeable. I would also like to know the source of this information. Unopened mail would mean checks that have not been cashed. If this happened to me, I would cancel the check and resubmitt my application and I wouldn't wait 4 years to do it.

This news about a "recent meeting" is so old that it makes no sense now!!

Please read the information in detail and understand it before posting such misleading messages here.
