Just received email that my case has been transferred to Newark, NJ and dont know how long its going to take to get my interview. Is this a good sign?

Guru's any idea as what might be asked during the interview process and how long does it normally take for the interview to be scheduled in Newark, NJ.

Add'l Info: I recently made an address change and also completed my FP.

Appreciate all your valuable inputs!

Thanks in advance.

Don't worry is not that bad as it seems to be ... my case was trans to Philly Wed and according to their posted proc time it takes 16 mo but I compiled a list wih all the ppl who were trasf in the last 3 years (>60) and in the last 6 mo the waiting time was 3 mo, continuously going down from an average in 2003 of 1 year, in Newark can be even better. I saw a guy from Buffalo getting the interv in less that 1 mo even the WEB site says 8-9 mo. Just follow the thread for Newark, I think you'll find all the info you need.

When they'll send you the interview letter they will tell you what documents you need to bring ... depends on the case.
Hope that helps,

Nemesis,
Thanks for your prompt response. Could you run a scan for Newark office too to see the waiting period for the interview.

Thanks again

The web site time is for Family Based interviews. There is no official time posted anywhere for local offices for employment based interviews. Not even the local office wil give you a procesing time for EB cases if you go see them. I got confirmation of this from both my lawyers, and from the local center when I visited them, and from the director at the local center (via my lawyer).

I agree 100%, you cannot get any info from scannig the WEB site in the way it works for VSC, but you can do something else: go to the thread for Newark local office (http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=88576&page=1&pp=15), I saw that there are 52 pages to compile, the good part is that you have a lot of info and the statistics will be better, the bad part is that it takes a lot of time, I did the same for Philly (http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?p=997950#post997950) and I put all the info that I found in an xls spreadsheet, I collected ~60 cases in 4 years and there is a clear tendency that you'll see ... In Philly for ex last year the waiting time was ~ 12 mo not it seems to be somewhere between 3-5 months, and it might get even better from Jan 1st. I noticed somebody who had his case transferred to Newark in Nov and in less that a month he got the interview so cheer up,
