hi all,

BCIS emailed me saying that on August 13, 2004 my case was transferred to LA office and wait for notice for interview. Anyone in the same boat? I used 245-I and paid the $1000 penalty. I called my lawyer and ask how soon I could have the interview. She said that it takes 6-8 months  Anyone had this experience? Any comments will be appreciated.

What is a 245(i) case?

245i cases will allow employment based green card applicants who became out of status (over stayed) to adjust status in the US by just paying $1000.
But this 245i does not apply to current cases anymore.

Guys,

I think we should keep this thread open to monitor how soon we could get that much awaited interview.

Mine was a 245-i case and got approved without transfer and RFE. I guess I was lucky. You guys can visit the "I-485 transfers to local office" sub-forum and there are some interview threads there. I believe one guy posted her LA interview --> approval experience there. Good luck to you all.
