I have checked the on line status for me and my family members and found the below for all :

On March 6, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in WASHINGTON, DC for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in WASHINGTON, DC will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

What does it mean? Now again they are going to take several months? Should I call them ? Is everything ok?

Note : On phone the message is still the same (2 year old)

Thanks in advance

I think now a days we all consider this as a good thing, if a case gets transfered to a local center. I guess there is nothing to worry, you might get an interview. Wait for someone to post their experience with Washington, DC service center in perticular.

Don't worry, be happy that there are some movements in your case at least.

Thanks you very much for your prompt reply. Actually, I was worried about " It may take several months".....I thought again it is just going to sit over there for another couple of years like before.....

Thanks again

I hate to say this, but welcome to the club. Unfortunately, DC local office takes a really long time to schedule an interview. My case is transferred in November and I am still waiting for the interview letter. There are some lucky ones(very few) who got their interviews within six months of transfer. Not to discourage you, but brace yourself for a waiting period of atleast 6 to 8 months.

For more information, read the following thread.

By the way, can you think of any reason why your case might have been transferred? Did you get married just before filling 485, or any address changes??

Yes, I got my address changed 4.5 months back (Married 12 yeas back). But after that I got my 2nd finger print notices...Address change confirmation....
In your case could you find out any reason for getting your case transferred....Also I applied for 3rd EAD 1 month back (efile) with $120.00.. Now I have heard that they have increased the fee to $130.00. Can they still reject my EAD on this ground if it correct...But still on the site it is showing only $120.00...

Thanks
