Hi:

Just checked on the AVM, it says case has been
transferred to Chicago Local INS on Sep11.
Is there any specific reason as to why my case
has been transferred to local office. And how
long does it takes for them to send a decision.

I even have my case details posted on rupnet.com.

Here are my case Details:

RD: 07/29/01
ND: 09/11/01
FP: 12/27/01

Case Transferred for me and wife to LOCAL INS, Sep-11

I will really appreciate any Input from the people who have their cases peniding with LOCAL INS Office.

Thanks

IJ

Both me and my spouse's cases were transferred to Chicago office back in 2/02.

RD:3/01
ND:4/01

It's really strange why the cases get transferred and then later how you get an interview scheduled. There is no logic or rationale for all this.

Anyway, we waited for our interviews to be scheduled till the end of July (one of our friends had RD/ND within 2 days of ours and their cases were transferred within 2 days of ours and they had their interview at the end of July). After that we contacted senator Fitzgerald's office and wasted about 3 weeks in that since the case worker was anything but helpful. She was very rude and snappy.

After that we contacted the local congressman's office (in our case Jan Shakowski) and they were very helpful and nice people that we dealt with, and we finally got an interview letter. The interview is scheduled for Oct 16.

YOu can go to www.senate.gov or www.congress.gov to find your congressman and their contact info.

Hope this helps. I have heard from quite a few people with transfered cases that they had to get help from local senator/congressman's office to have an interview scheduled. I have also read about the bad experiences with Senator Fitzgerald's office in downtown Chicago.

Hope thsi helps!! Good luck!

Question for u all

hi folks
did either of u get married within a one year window prior to I-485 application - just curious..as to why ur cases were transferred, despite being straight forward,as I know that is one of the reasons, even though u have a marriage cert,if ur wedding date is real near to I485 application

Good luck
Cheers

Thanks for the Reply !!

I have been studying the posts on this board for the
transfer cases and its seems quite discouraging
the way Chicago INS office is working !!!

I have few questions for you regarding the procedure
to approach senator/congressman, if you can give
me your email address, i will just send them across.

Thanks
