Our case is is transferred to Atlanta today. I don't know how long it will take……...

RD Sept 24 ,2001
ND Nov 15,2001
RFE on Sept 19 , 2002
RFE received on Oct 6,2002
Case transferred on Nov 5,2002

Was yours an NIW (national interest waiver) case? Did your employment letter also described your job-duties?

If EB-2/EB-3, did you change job during I-485?

Just trying to fathom out probable reasons for transfer.

Thanks.

Jigesh

No....

I never changed employer, it is EB3 case. Since we did not receive any receipt from INS even after 4 months we applied again ( checks were valid only for 90 days) . INS accepted both the applications.

Thank you for your input. I guess your suspicion is correct - they probably want to resolve the two I-485 issue during interview. Not difficult, except the interview delay.

I wish you get your interview/approval soon.

Best wishes,

Jigesh

Hang in there

jkmad,
My case is also transfered from VSC to Atlanta Office in the first week of September. I went to the local INS office personally but they did not tell me how long it would take. They just told me that they have started taking a look at the case in the first wek of OCtober. The officer also mentioned that they might not even call one for an interview. The case gets transferred when VSC (or for that matter any SC) doesnot have all information or wants to see if the information provided is true adn think that the applicant needs to be called for an interview. But if the local office thinks otherwise they might not call for an interview and just approve the case. Hipe this helps.

Keep us posted with your progress

All the best to both of you wating to be called for an interview. Hope the local officers will just immediately approve your cases!

waitingforaos - did you get interview date?

I think we may have to wait for 2-3 months to get the date. I heard Atlanta is one of the worst INS local office.

I applied for EAD renewal and IIO told me that only the EAC file has gone to Atlanta, A file is still in Vermont, so EAD will come from VSC.

P.S Online status is really online , VSC transferred my file at 7:33 AM today (Nov 5 ) and I checked the status at 8:30AM , got the new message.

Not true

When I personally went to the local office, they said that they received the file on a date which was within a week from transfer from VSC. Also, its already been 2 months since the local office has received my file so I think its going to take longer then 2 months. Hopefully will be out of all this mess by end of this year. Am keeping my fingers crossed

why transfer after RFE

Why they transfer you after RFE instead of transfer at beginning.

Could because you now live in Altanta which is not belong to VSC
