Case Transferred - I485

Hi to all,

I just recently checked the status of my case through the internet and it states now there that my case was transferred to San Francisco District office to be scheduled for interview. For me this is a bit strange cause all of the people that I talked to were never interviewed for employment base I-485s also as far as what I've read here in the forum.

Is there by any chance that there is a problem with my case? Has anyone encountered the same situation that I am in right now?

Can someone shed some light into this matter.

Appreciate any answers.

Thanks

There are many different reasons why cases are transferred:
1) change jobs many times
2) current job description and new job description are not similar (AC21)
3) big difference between labor certificate and your current salary (low or high)
4) out of status in the past history
5) name check against BCIS network system
6) medical (weird or uncompleted)
7) fingerprint not clear
8) 245i or 245k
9) missing documents
10) they want to verify your certificates or paystubs or employment letter etc.
11) criminal background (they want to check)
12) biographical background (missing address in the past or unknown address)
13) move from another place to another to another frequently.
I think it is all.

Don't worry. it is just formality at every interview case. Just prepare to collect all your documents like copies of your 485, birth certificate, photos, employment letter, paystubs, tax returns, bank statement, etc. then prepare to ask your lawyer lots of questions if you have a lawyer. then relax and wait for interview notice letter or direct approval letter.

You missed one: random checks. A few cases are randomly transferred for interview as part of some kind of evaluation mechanism at the USCIS. Similar to what happens at the IRS: some tax returns are randomly audited to evaluate compliance.
