Case Transfered to Philadelphia

I got this e-mail today stating that my case is transfered to Philly. The message also says that they will send me a written decision as soon as processing is complete. Did they transfer it to help with backlog or because I live in Philadelphia area? Does this mean I will have to go to an interview? Did anyone have similar experience?

Yes you will be interview but you realy don't have to worry about that but be happy most of the time it just to speed up your process time :)

My case was transferred to Local office on Sept 2nd, and received BIO #2 on mail a week before ( appointment on sept 9th and I did).
Still waiting, two week already passed. I'm just waiting *crossed my fingers*

the notification said "they transferred to local office to speed up my case"

That's exactly the message I got. It states that they transfered the case for processing. I heard that they transfered some cases to TX and Philadelphia to help with backlog elimination. I hope it's a good sign.

I'm sure it is only a matter of a day or two..Atleast now you know that you can always WALK to the USCIS office! :)
Mike N. I am just concerned..didnt we do the bios almost at the same time?? my whole family got the GCs. I know it takes within 90 days to get it..so i am sure it will be pretty soon.

As far as I remember we did do bio at the same time. This message from NSC makes me nervous a little.

Yes and actually I took my inspiration from you when you had the BIO done as a walk-in..so I was the next one to try. Probably you might be called for an interview. I think cases that are transferred to local offices are called in for interviews if they need some kind of information, as it will be easier for the applicants to come to the office. This is just my assumption. But it wont take much long now.
