Hi,

I got this email yesterday.

"On October 25, 2006, we transferred your I485
Application to Register Permanent Residence or to
Adjust Status to an office in LINCOLN, NE for
processing. Our office in LINCOLN, NE will send you a
written decision as soon as processing is complete.
You should receive a notice informing you that your
case has been transferred to a local office."

Couple of questions:
I reside in New Hampshire. Why was it sent to local office in Lincoln, NE.? Does this usually happen?

I am guessing that I might get an interview...Am I too optimistic in guessing :-) ?

Usually how much time does it take for them to respond with an interview call?

Do I need to take attorney for attorney?

Is there any documention that would be helpful to keep ready for interview?

Thanks

HI Tundra,

I got the following email from USCIS on July 13, 2006

"On July 13, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in LINCOLN, NE for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in LINCOLN, NE will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case"

I filed at VSC. Do you think Lincoln office means the local office at Nebraska. I am wondering why VSC has to transfer when I live in New Jersey. There is no response from Lincoln office even after 3 and half months. see below my signature for the details. Can you post your details?

Looks like your PD should be current even if you are from retrogressed country. any improvement in your case after your file got transferred?
