Case Status did not disappear after IL

Hi,

Wonder if anyone has the same experience. I received my interview letter in April '07 after a year of applying from VSC. My DO is Boston. The interview is on June 4th.

It seems (from the experience of other posts, and my husband) like the online case status disappears after the file is transferred to the DO...My online case status has not disappeared...Does that mean my file has not been transferred to the DO...Should I do anything about this i.e. call VSC etc?

Thanks
Priya

I have my Oath on 05/22 and the status is still the same from Nov/06. Case status disappearing is not a true reflection of your application status. If it disappears it does, if it does not, don't worry too much.

I think VSC does not do anything with the status. I pass interview and my status still VSC. People are already Citizen still report that VSC did nothing to their on-line status. Desappearing status, I think, only happens with other Service Centers.

We all beat up on ourselves about the "disappearing case status" being indicative of our files being transferred and that an inteview letter is imminent. I think this theory is an "urban myth" and consequently a "red herring" (is there a difference !!!!).

Reading these posts, there appears to be no reliable empirical data to suggest that the theory is sound and I have never seen any official documentation whatsoever that supports it !!!!!

They are selling a book on Amazon.com called "disappearing case status".

Could that be it?;)

I am in the same boat (NSC). My case status has not changed from pending and I received IL two weeks ago.

My case status did disappear a few days before I received my IL and I think the same is true for a number of other VSC applicants. I would worry if my case status disappeared and my IL did not arrive in a reasonable period of time (might be useful to check with USCIS in case the IL got lost in the mail or something). But of course the converse is a don't care. You have the IL in hand. So does it really matter what an online system (which is known to not be very reliable) thinks the case status is ? Good luck with your interview !

My case status disappeared 4 days or so prior to IL arriving in mail. 4 weeks later my spouse's case status disappeared 3 days prior to spouse's IL arriving in mail. I both our cases Interview Notice Date (on the IL latter) was exact day preceding the date of status disappearance. So, it is hard not to draw somewhat obvious conclusion. But I realize that there are many people here that did not have that happened in their cases. So they are rightfully frustrated with this and call it useless 'in their cases'. I guess the best way is to search this forum for key word 'disappeared' and decide for yourself.

I think case status disappearance perhaps means something if it happens, but means nothing if it doesn't.
I got my otah letter already and the status is still the same.

Right. If it disappears, there's a pretty good chance it is because your file has been transfered to a district office and you'll get an interview letter soon. It's possible that it disappears and then some glitch gets in the way of your interview, but usually disappearance means "interview letter soon".

If it doesn't disappear, well, then it doesn't.
