Case-specific questions about L-2 visa and EAD

Hello All,

I am the wife of a L-1 visa holder and I am hoping to get the L-2 without a hitch. I have worked in the US before on P1 visas and so I already have a SSN. So my questions are:

1) On the i-795 application for an EAD there is no eligibility criteria that describes the L-2 visa to put as a answer to question 16. This seems weird as the USCIS website specifically leads L-2 holder to the particular form for an EAD. A search of the internet reveals others with the same confusion. Should I put (a)(18) as others have suggested?
2) The i-795 instruction guide doesn't give filing instructions for (a)(18) applicants.What should I do? Try and file electronically or try to set up an infopass meeting at a local USCIS office when I get to the US? OR use the Phoenix PO box address?
3) Should I pre-empt any delays by including all possible documentation that they could ever possibly ask for when filing?
4) I think my case is relatively straight-forward, so what is the best case scenario for the turnaround time for a EAD?

You really need to apply it. Don't get lazy and assume that just since you read it, that you may get the maximum results. You can not.
