Case Numbers

Does anyone know how the case numbers are assigned for a family ?

SRC 0A-XXX-YY-ZZZ

Is YY-ZZZ is the smaller number for primary applicant or could it be random ?

The people with family pls check and post.

I think it is random. I am the primary applicant but my spouse's number is much smaller than mine.

there's no pattern

I don't think there is any pattern. Our cases also have a greater number for the primary applicant and lower numbers for the derivative applicant.

I think it is random, although in our case, my (primary) number is less than that of my wife's. But her alien number is less than mine!
