Case Number vs Confirmation Number?

Hi,

I had a pretty silly question. But i was tryin to figure out the difference between a Case Number and a Confirmation Number? I know you all will probably think that this is a stupid question, but take this question commin from a rookie. Also, if there is a difference, then where do i get the case number from?

Confirmation number is the number you get after applying for Dv lottery.They tell u to print the confirmation page so that you have a record of this number.E.g for Dv 2012 it may look like this 201210CJB506M79K ,They are supposed to 16 alphanumericals. Case number is got after you are selected and you have become a winner.They are given according to regions.AF=Africa,AS=ASIA E.T.C you may have AF20120000455.
