Gurus,

what is diff between "Case in last stage" and "assigned to an officer"?

I called IIO two days ago and she said "your 485 case is in last stage and you should hear in another month".

Any idea????

Thanks,

three "phases"

From my experience, and reading other posts - there appear to be 3 phases

1. Last stage/final adjudications department
2. Pending assignment to officer
3. With an officer.

Hope this helps

Thanks Sharp70. BTW any idea in which phase RFE will be issued, if required..

Thanks for mentioning 3 phases in 485 approval process.

Any idea in which phase RFE ( on pay checks,W2, Tax Returns or on Birth/Marriage Certificate etc.. ) will be issued, if required.

Can some one pl shed light on this?

Thanks,

RFE is issued by the Officer

My wild guess is that RFE is issued in the last stage when the case is with the officer.
One of my company person does not change his job, residing in the same place for 4 years got his approval without an RFE.
One of my company person, who changed h1 two-three times got his case transfer to local centre.
I chnaged address after filing 485 , got an RFE.

thanks

Rajiv

thanks in advance

If I understand your question correctly..

If I understand your question correctly..I have seen some cases approved in a week, after INS received "reply to RFE".
