Dear gurus of the forum,
I am new on the immigration forum but have been watching cases prior to reg.n
I would like to ask gurus/experienced members which category to apply in and what chances do I carry.

In not so reputed university for 2 years. 7 journal publications. Medium impact in 2 journals and low impact 5 journals. 4 citations. 4 conference presentations. Invited talks- 3. No awards/patents.
have reviewed over 20 articles.
On review boards.
Will try for letter from 6 professors.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Arjun,

I think you have good chances for EB1-OR if you can get your employer to give you a letter that states your job is permanent. If your job is grant-dependent/non-tenured and not permanent, get them to state in the letter that your job is contingent on funding and stating that funding will continue for another round (along with funding history in the past).

Start collecting recommendation letters - this is the rate-determining step for most of the EB-1/2 based applications. The rest is easy.

So, if I were you, I would claim authorship of scholarly articles (based on papers) and judge of others' work (based on reviews). I wouldn't claim original contribution because of low citations. But for EB1-OR, you only need to satisfy two.

Since you are institutional boards, you can also claim this.

Since you are from India, due to the obvious retrogression reasons, do not go for NIW unless you have the money to spare AND your status is not in jeopardy for the next three-four years.
