My case is approved today. Just received the email and the USCIS website also said the same thing. Mine is a long wait. PD became current june, 1. My PD is 5/2001. EB3 at VSC, 485 RD 9/03. 1st FP 8/04, 2nd FP 6/21/06. Name check cleared around 11/05. Good luck to every one !
 
Congrats Yuan! My PD is current since May 1. God knows when my I-485 will be approved since I am stuck in "routine security check"
 
Another thing...

Before I received the approval email today, I got a letter in the mail from USCIS regarding an inquiry I did two months ago. The letter says my case is delayed because my background check is still going on. This letter had me suprised and depressed for a while for through my repeated calls to VSC I came to know that my name check was cleared last year. Then I got the approval email and now it seems VSC is just using the name check thing as an excuse to make you stop contacting them.
 
To be clearer, the letter and the approval email came

on the same day, several hours apart, saying totally different things....

Our cases are similar. When and how did you get a FP2? Did you get a biometric appt letter after your inquiry two months ago?

After my PD became current on 6/1, I called about a week later and talked to a VSC officer, who informed me that I needed 2nd FP. I guess this call triggered the issuance of the 2nd FP notice, which I received around the middle of June and did on 06/21. 3 LUD on 7/3, 7/5 and 7/6. Called VSC again around the end of July and was informed that the case was assigned to an adjudicating officer around 7/26. I guess you need to be more proactive in contacting VSC. Good luck!

My case is similar. Did my FP2 on 6/29/06. Hope it ends like yours.

Just received fingerprinting notice Code 2 for next week. Guess the cards will be ordered after this round of FP.

Congrats!!! :) Your case is a very good example. I tried to contact with VSC, but I don't have their phone number. Can you tell me the phone # of VSC? I filed my I-485 in Nov, 2004, haven't heard from USCIS so far. My first FP is in April, 2005. My PD is current in June 1, 2006. I asked my lawyer about my case recently, he told me I am stucking in the name checks and I was depressed and couldn't believe it. Last Friday I went to local USCIS office to ask, the officer ask me to take a new FP. I am looking forward to receiving my approval notice soon.

My case got a LUD today, no message change. What should I expect?

MIne I-485 also got approved on Aug 16th 2006. But since then I am waiting, approval notice said that I may be called for biometrics. Whats your update, did you receive approval notice and do you think if you would be called for biometrics?

For your Biometrics notification did you get the change of message on your online status saying that you have been mailed notice of Biometrics or it was just change of LUD (last updated date)
