Sorry to mention it's the dependent's case

The primary's case was approved more than 6 months ago.

Here are the details.

I-485
RD: Nov, 2001
ND: 12-06-2001
EAC 02 056 53 5**

1st FP 3-31-2002
2st FP 8-31-2003
AD: 10-24-2003
 
We also contacted sensator's office in NJ twice

Maybe it helped.

The primary's case was approved in early April.

In early June, contacted senator Jon Corzine's office in NJ, was informed the case was pending and would take 2 to 3 months.

Did 2nd FP on the scheduled date. And contacted the senator's office's again after three months' of first inquiry. This time the information provided was really helpful. The letter said they (BCIS) had the FP results (presumably the 2nd FP) and the security check sounded fine. The letter also specifically mentioned that an IIO will pick up the case within the next week.

After a little more than a month of 2nd Senator inquiry, the cased was approved today.

The dependent's case was somehow separated from the primary's. We didnot want the dependent's case to be sit there forever after the primary's case was approved in early April this year. Also, as one can read from the postings here, it is very difficult, if not impossible, for oneself to get any useful information about his/her case by calling the 1-800 number provided.

Congrats! We have very similar situation. Primary approved in early May and I completed the 2nd FP as scheduled. I also contacted the same senator three months ago.(reply received 2 months ago: case not assigned)
