Thanks for your good wishes, guys. My family and me are leaving to go to India (BACK HOME!!) on the 16th of Aug for a holiday. Considering I came here as a tourist on a B1/B2 visa in 1997, this entire process has been very interesting.

The stamping was done in Arlington. The cards were ordered on the 31st of July. Looks like that is the norm. The cards get ordered after about a month of stamping and arrive within a week.

How does one find when the card has been ordered?

You call the automated line as usual after the passport has been stamped. The message will change from case approved to card ordered once the cards have been ordered.
