I got Stamping on May 28th at Charleston, SC. Till now i did not received my GC... Is there any number that i can call to know the status of my Green Card... I am leaving to India in 3 weeks, i do not have any AP's(I gave to INS on May 28th at Charleston) BUT i do have the Stamping in my Passport... Is this SAFE or enough to travel to India and come back to US
 
I did my passpost stamping on Feb 11th and am yet to receive card :-(

I know that if you are going thorugh UK or Swiss, you need to take the transit visa. I believe once you leave US, nobody gives a damn about the passport stamp. So, don't count on it.

It is my understanding that you can travel to India with passport stamp. I'm not sure about the transit visa but you should not have any problem coming back from India.

you can find out the status of your card from USCIS website ...same way as you checked your I485 status. Use the same SRC number .....
